Sr. Software Test Engineer

Warrenton, VA

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
 
The succesful candidates core responsibilties will include, but not to be limited to:
  • Acting as Testing liaison to Application Development Organizations and Federal Government Agency stakeholders.
  • Envisioning and implementing flexible new testing approaches in support of Agile/DevOps development efforts.
  • Automating testing whenever possible.
  • Leading and managing a team of Testers supporting multiple applications.
  • Guiding team(s) on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, values and principles.
  • Communicating with a variety of stakeholders including federal government and partner application development organizations.
  • Collecting and review quantitative and qualitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysis.
  • Leading conference calls as required.
  • Providing technical and testing leadership to other members of the team.
  • Working with program leadership to contribute to the development of training for the team; be available to provide training to the team as required.
  • Help increase productivity through continuous process improvements.
  • Understanding applications from both a technical and business perspective.
  • Managing multiple mid-sized projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelores degree in related firled and  5 years of Testing and Development experience. An equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of IT Management experience in an agile environment.
  • Proven success developing excellent working relationships with clients and teaming partners.
  • Expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools and deployment processes and tools.
  • Broad technical skills across multiple domains (Technology, Information, Process, Applications, etc.) and platforms (client-server, web-based, N-tier, cloud).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing and Automated Testing.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing of web based software.
  • Experience working with multiple development organizations or teams.
  • Experience supporting testing in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in a variety of Agile frameworks.
  • Experience in a DevOps environment.
  • Experience in a cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environment.
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) Testing and Agile related certifications.
  • Current hands on software development engineering experience and expert development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to large groups of various levels of an organization.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of automated testing framework, technologies and strategies.
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of software test engineering.
  • Must be able to understand business needs.
  • Exhibit excellent attention to detail.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required. candidate selected must be able to successfully pass an extensive client background investigation.
