Contract Specialist

Planned Systems International, Inc. is in search for a Contract Specialist who can provide acquisition and contracting support in all areas of the acquisition process required to support our company.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
The candidates core responsibilities will include, but not to be limited to:
  • Working effectively with Program Office, Business Development, and Accounting/Finance departments.
  • Developing, preparing and presenting terms and conditions in requirements related to the award of contracts.
  • Negotiating, awarding, and administering contracts.
  • Assisting with negotiation and award functions, and other ancillary functions arising from the procurement process.
  • Administering the terms and conditions of contracts, including such aspects as preparing contract modifications, evaluation of performance under the contract, and contract termination.
  • Participating in procurement management reviews and contract clearance, or developing positions on claims and protests related to contracts.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree; either a major in or 24 semester equivalent hours in any of the following preferred fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods or organization and management. Minimum of 2+ years of specialized experience and 1 year in Government Contracting. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Experience negotiating and awarding contracts, contract modifications, and/or subcontracts.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills required.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Demonstrated experience with General Services Administration (GSA) eBuy, GSA Federal Supply Schedules, and Government-Wide Acquisitions Contracts.
  • U.S. Citizenship required as is successfully passing and obtaining a government background screening/clearance.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint 7 preferred.
