PSI has adopted the 35 soldiers of the 3rd Platoon Alpha Company, 1st of the 21st Stryker Task Force (Gimlets), 25th Infantry Division, who were deployed to Iraq on December 4, 2007. One of the soldiers in the Army platoon is "family" - son-in-law of PSI employee Gretchen Lizza.

Committees have formed to organize mailings of donations and to make sure that each soldier receives kind words and encouragement. Employees send emails and letters and donate items such as batteries, snacks, magazines, and toys for Iraqi children. The committee plans to hold a fundraising event in the near future to raise money to supply the platoon with fire/heat retardant shirts to keep them safe and protect them from the extreme conditions in the Iraqi desert.

"We need to let them know that we appreciate each one of them, we pray for them, we keep them in our hearts and our memories each and every day," said PSI Platoon Committee Chairperson, Carol Lin.
