PSI to Provide Project Support for My Recovery Plan™ Mental Health Enhancements to My HealtheVet

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 23, 2009

FALLS CHURCH, VA - Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a respected provider of information technology solutions and services to the federal government, announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide program and implementation support for My Recovery Plan™. My Recovery Plan™ is a set of clinician and veteran-developed enhancements to My HealtheVet - a veteran-focused health care portal for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

This project will be developed as an initial pilot and subsequent national roll-out. Under this contract, PSI's team will provide support stewarding the development, design, testing, and implementation of My Recovery Plan™ features for My HealtheVet. The new functionality of My Recovery Plan™ will integrate veterans into the care and treatment of symptoms of mental illnesses and facilitate, through close coordination with health care providers, recovery-based initiatives for their health and well-being. Features of My Recovery Plan™ include setting life goals, tracking medication adherence, monitoring symptoms of mental illness and recovery, and delivering self-paced, interactive educational features.

"PSI is proud to have the opportunity to assist the Veterans Administration in aligning health technology solutions with the needs of veterans," said Terry Lin, Chief Executive Officer, speaking from PSI's Healthcare IT Solutions office in Falls Church, VA. "Today's press coverage highlights the issues confronted by our veterans in today's society, and we are pleased to contribute our support toward those who have served our nation so honorably."

Gerald Pizer, PSI's Chief Operating Officer and a Navy Veteran, noted, "This project reflects PSI's mission to deliver health information technology solutions focused on the needs of our clients. This is especially important work, and we look forward to working with the VA to deliver mental health alternatives to our veterans and their health care providers."
