FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 10, 2008
FALLS CHURCH, VA - Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a respected provider of information technology (IT) solutions and services to the federal government, announced that it has been awarded the MHS Learn contract by the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) Defense Health Services Systems (DHSS). Under this contract, PSI and its team members will support portal development, systems integration, course content development, and the ongoing sustainment support and system administration of MHS Learn, an enterprise e-Learning and collaborative portal for training activities for the MHS.
The MHS Learn platform is one of the largest implementations of Oracle Corporation's iLearning 5.0 Software and Oracle Technology Stack. The MHS Learn's key requirements are to address the learning needs of staff, patients and caregivers via Employee, Patient and Provider Portals for the MHS, along with other shared learning initiatives with the Veterans Health Administration, the National Guard and other Federal Government agencies. MHS Learn supports traditional classroom, virtual "webinar" sessions, and extensive discussion forums that instantly connect specialized training communities worldwide.
"This award is a significant win for PSI, reflecting the ongoing partnership between our company and the MHS," said Gerald Pizer, chief operating officer, speaking from PSI's Healthcare IT Solutions office in Falls Church, VA. "We look forward to supporting the MHS in its efforts to provide distance learning to its employees, patients, and partners."
MHS Learn provides support for over 90,000 lesson completions per day to over 170,000 current users with over 3.5 million historical records. TMA estimates an annual increase of 200,000 new users and an ongoing extension of MHS Learn's capabilities and available courses supporting the expanding MHS and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) learning initiatives for the staff, patient and caregiver populations.
