Expense Assignment System (EAS) IV
Project Overview
EAS IV is a cost allocation tool that assists in identifying the total cost of providing healthcare to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries. EAS IV provides DoD decision-makers with improved business case analysis and decision support capabilities to maximize cost-effective healthcare delivery. EAS IV also is a management support tool that provides standardized reporting of workload, expense, and manpower data at the medical and dental treatment facility level. To support the financial management of the MHS, EAS IV combines clinical workload, labor hours, and expenses to calculate the cost-per-unit of service produced.

PSI Services & Results
PSI provides comprehensive Tier III maintenance support for the Expense Assignment System used in military treatment facilities worldwide.

Tier III support includes maintenance of EAS III, the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) Executive Query System III (MEQS III), and EAS IV (including the EAS IV Repository). Specifically, these functions include software maintenance, software updates, systems qualification testing, and documentation associated with these systems.

PSI successfully completed the earlier conversion of the EAS IV application and EAS IV Repository from Informix to Oracle 9i. Subsequent versions of this database conversion now support the system interface between EAS IV and the Labor Cost Assignment (LCA) module within DMHRSi. This provides man-hour and associated expense data to EAS IV while centralizing EAS IV functionality from its previous distributed client-server architecture.
