Project Overview
The USDA’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) independently audits and investigates Departmental programs and operations; works with Department management teams to increase program effectiveness and to prevent and detect fraud and abuse; and issues reports semiannually to the Secretary of Agriculture and the U.S. Congress.In support of the OIG/USDA mission, PSI provided support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the OIG LAN/WAN; provided telecommunications support; provided headquarters and regional helpdesk management and systems maintenance support; and provided website/applications development and maintenance support.
PSI Services & Results
PSI delivered support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the OIG LAN/WAN and assisted in designing and managing the LAN/WAN infrastructure and processes. PSI provided production support of the network, including day-to-day operations and monitoring, plus problem resolution for all of the client networks. PSI identified, diagnosed, and resolved problems for the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors.PSI provided telecommunications support through analysis of network characteristics, design, site configurations, installations, and cutovers. PSI analyzed network characteristics (e.g. traffic, connect time, transmission speed, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommended procurement, removals, and modifications to network components. We designed and optimized network topologies and site configurations.PSI delivered high quality, cost-effective web development solutions using progressive tools and industry innovations. PSI provided website design and development support to redesign and deploy an OIG public Internet site supporting the OIG mission and to effect compliance with Section 508, the Americans Disabilities Act.
