Program Information Management System Development
Project Overview
The Program Information Management System (PIMS) is a key component in the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant process. PIMS provides a uniform interface for describing the core activities of NSF grant programs and for the distribution of data to internal NSF systems and customers. PIMS facilitates the creation of program descriptions and criteria in a way that allows for the single entry of data for multiple purposes. Program solicitations, descriptions, and related data for internal applications are all drawn from a single source — eliminating redundancy and discrepancies among data sources.

PSI Services
PSI's application developers were the primary authors of the PIMS application. They created a comprehensive application based on the Vignette content management system and Tcl/Tk and integrated it into NSF’s existing applications and business processes. The development team was responsible for all code written for PIMS as well as the plan and design for the future of the system.
