Project Overview
The TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), a field activity for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, manages programs that provide quality healthcare to military beneficiaries. Within the TMA, the Technology Management, Integration, and Standards (TMI&S) Directorate is responsible for preparing and maintaining the Military Health System (MHS) information infrastructure and establishing policies, standards, and procedures for integration, interoperability and data sharing. TMI&S also serves as the MHS IA focal point and establishes security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures as well as AIS IA certification accreditation services.

The objective of this task is to support the MHS/TMA IA Program Office.

PSI Services & Results
PSI supports the MHS/TMA IA Program Office by providing technical assistance including: technical security analysis, IA computer lab support, C&A Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) development, trend analysis of IA data, computer network defense, and security management. In addition, PSI provides the following specific services:

  • Escalate change control processes to take corrective action and bring the Customer Site CD quality metrics into alignment with the expected MHS/TMA Tolerance.
  • Work with Federal, DoD, Military Services, and TRICARE Contractor representatives to resolve IA operational security issues, including: contingency planning and testing, policy guidance, and security configuration management.
  • Perform telecommunication and network security analysis and provide recommendations on safeguards including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs and encryption.
  • Perform IA security data sensitivity analysis and develops MHS/TMA Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop the technology roadmap for MHS/TMA IA Lab research and analysis efforts and maintain expertise in the identification, research, and analysis of new IA technologies.
  • Provide an IA Help Desk structure to ensure uninterrupted operations during business and non-business hours.
