Enterprise-Wide Provider Database (EWPD) Provider File
Project Overview
To facilitate excellence across the MHS Enterprise, the development and maintenance of an EWPD is key to the consolidation of provider data in order to support the needs of the MHS, now and into the future. Presently, the MHS has multiple systems which maintain provider data, with varying architecture. There is little, if any, sharing of data between these systems. This has lead to redundancy of data, duplication of effort and inefficient business practices. Significant value accrues to the MHS from designating source information systems and then cross-linking them to multiple business operations, processes and applications.

PSI Services & Results
PSI provides the following services in support of the MHS Optimization Plan, which has the lead for developing and implementing an EWPD:

  • Refines and validates business area requirements, data elements and business rules, and the data ownership of provider data and network provider demographic data
  • Develops, tests and deploys messages needed to support all identified Provider data
  • Maintains awareness of all business area/system technical activities and manage convergence or impact issues
  • Ensures that all enterprise architecture solution(s) and messaging utilized across the various business area initiatives support the Common Service concept using iXP; support migration from legacy RMG to iXP
  • Supports Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) policy and monthly DISA maintenance
  • Ensures that all development, testing, user acceptance and implantation are completed in accordance with all DoD IT regulations and requirements
  • Ensures that all documentation follows the Resources Information Technology
  • Program Office (RITPO) Configuration Management process in support of the MHS Enterprise-wide IM/IT strategies
  • Ensures all data-exchange agreements are in accordance with MHS Information Assurance (IA) standards
