Project Overivew

MHS Learn is a centralized, web-based Learning Management System (LMS) which provides consistent and timely training to the military medical workforce worldwide. This live application is currently used by over 170,000 learners accessing hundreds of courseware titles and learning events.

Shared learning initiatives within the Veterans Health Administration, the National Guard, and other Federal Government agencies, coupled with MHS Learn’s very successful track-record, mean significant expansion opportunities exist.

Deploying learning on an LMS like MHS Learn presents a proven Best Practice for many customers. Blended training methods - WBTs, Virtual Classrooms (live or recorded), threaded discussions and forums - offer a very compelling alternative compared to traditional classroom-based training methods.

PSI Services & Results

PSI provides a wide range of activities in support of MHS Learn including portal development, systems integration, course content development, and the ongoing sustainment support and system administration. The MHS Learn platform is one of the world’s largest implementations of Oracle Corporation’s iLearning application.

PSI is highly skilled at integrating customer-based training requirements, offering a wide range of deployment options on MHS Learn (e.g., prerequisites, specialized data conversion, front-end portals, unique learner profile attributes, learning paths, custom reporting, tailored certificates and continuing education credits). Besides configuration and maintenance, PSI has also engineered several improvements that make the underlying LMS more easily sustainable and cost effective.

PSI has designed and authored numerous custom Web-Based Training (WBT) modules utilizing Flash and other authoring platforms. We also repurpose customers’ existing materials (e.g., PPT, HTML) into SCORMconformant courseware, often launched and tracked on MHS Learn. PSI’s approach to building custom interactive e-learning starts with understanding customer specifications and follows an iterative development approach known as “ADDIE”. PSI builds and delivers training to reach MHS personnel, veterans and their families, wherever and whenever training needs occur.
