As Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Ren is responsible for formulating technical and business process solutions for PSI’s current and potential customers. He is the chief advisor to the CEO on customer needs and best approaches for meeting and exceeding customer requirements. Dr. Ren actively supports PSI programs in achieving unparalleled success and participates in the presentation of advanced concepts and proposals to public and private organizations.

Prior to joining PSI, he led the formulation and presentation of innovative health IT solutions to the U.S. federal government as the Chief Technology Officer of MedRed, LLC. He also solved performance issues with major government programs as the Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder of Kepler Research Inc. MedRed won the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Appointment Scheduling Contest and is a member of the winning Department of Defense (DoD) Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) team. Kepler Research grew to nearly $10M in annual revenues after meeting challenges, such as helping the DoD Net Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) Program cross Milestone B.

Dr. Ren began his career as a Senior Systems Engineer and Policy Analyst at the ANSER not-for-profit public service research institute. While there, he led major systems and operations research studies for Air Force Headquarters, Joint Staff / J3, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense / Net Assessment. He was a handpicked member of the Air Force Battle Staff & Task Force responding to the Congressional Commission to Assess U.S. National Security Space Management and Organization, and he was a member of ANSER’s Homeland Defense Leadership Council.

Dr. Ren holds a B.S.E. degree Magna Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania, an S.M. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. degree in Systems Analysis from the University of Bolton. A certified Six Sigma Black Belt, he is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Dr. Ren has won presentation awards from the Military Operations Research Society, and has been the lead author for over a dozen journal articles and conference presentations on operations research, complex systems analysis, disaster preparedness, management of information systems, public administration, and medicine.
